Sculpting Senses is an exhibition stemming from a workshop.
Iza van den Baar describes it as follows:
“As a social fashion and food designer, my work revolves around the connection that arises through food. I experiment in collaboration with others, which allows me to try out new ways of presenting, ranging from performances and experiences to educational projects and exhibitions. My work invites encounters, where I look for ways to stimulate the senses and create awareness around the meaning of fashion, food and the connection between people and art.
After organizing two multi-sensory experiences on Saturday May 3rd, I will open my doors on Sunday May 4th and the new exhibition “Sculpting the Senses” will be open to visitors.
The workshop
In the first weekend of May I will be organizing a unique multi-sensory experience where you and other participants will create a sculpture, guided by the five senses. The overarching theme is food, in which ingredients will be visually and tangibly presented. We will organically explore all the senses, in which they will be sharpened one by one. Such as feeling interesting structures or tasting surprising flavors.
Come with an open mind and discover how stimulating your senses can enrich not only your creativity, but also your view of art.”
