Tonnie Heijdra is a visual artist, a director, a scenographer, a performer, a comedian and an educator. She’s also a liar.

The performances, videos, tv-shows, installations, sculptures and experiences that Tonnie creates are a result of her curiosity for secrets and façades. For everything that is hidden. From a safe behind a painting, to the unwritten rules of social interaction. By making use of stereotypes, expectations and humour she shows absurd versions of her surroundings, which everyone can become part of. In these multidisciplinary works she tries to blur the lines between audience and work.
